The first Student Alumni Association group gathered in 2002. The group began with student leaders around campus, and has become a diverse group comprised of students from a wide range of colleges, majors, and campus organizations. This group takes a leadership role in traditional programs like Homecoming, while also creating unique programs just for students.

SAA strives to create and instill the spirit of the Bronco tradition in Boise State students. But beyond students, SAA also establishes and promotes the development of beneficial relationships among alumni, staff, faculty and the entire campus community. In striving to fulfill this purpose, SAA notes its role in the effort of furthering the quality of Boise State University as an institution of higher education.
